Film Critics Felicitate Kondapaneni Umamaheswara Rao on His Appointment as Board of Director of Andhra Pradesh Film, Television & Theatre Development Corporation.
It is known that the Andhra Pradesh Government recently appointed the Chairman and Executive Committee of the Andhra Pradesh State Film, Television & Theatre Development Corporation.
On this occasion, senior journalist and Film Critics Association member Kondapaneni Umamaheswara Rao was appointed as a Board of Director of the Corporation.
To mark the occasion, the governing body of the Film Critics Association organized a grand felicitation ceremony for him on Friday at the Film Chamber of Commerce building.
Prominent producers G. Adiseshagiri Rao and Kaja Suryanarayana attended the event as special guests.
Film Critics Association General Secretary Suresh Kondeti presented a bouquet, while senior members A. Balireddy and K. Venkateswara Rao honored him with shawls.
Speaking on the occasion, senior film critic K. Venkateswara Rao said, “I have been associated with Umamaheswara Rao garu since our Madras days. His dedication and humble nature are well known to everyone. I am delighted that such a deserving person has been given the responsibility of Board of Director.”
Senior member A. Balireddy said, “When I went to Madras as a journalist for Eenadu, I did not know anyone there. Umamaheswara Rao garu supported me, took me to his home, and helped me settle down. Since then, our bond has continued. It is appropriate that such a person has been given this position.”
Film Critics Association Executive Member and senior journalist Mamidipalli Giridhar said, “When I first went to Madras, I was in a confused state and knew no one. Umamaheswara Rao garu took me home, encouraged me, and gave me confidence. I am happy that the government has given such an important responsibility to such a good person.”
Film Critics Association Honorary President A. Prabhu said, “Umamaheswara Rao garu is known in the film industry as a non-controversial and friendly personality. This position perfectly suits him. He also has experience serving on several committees related to the film industry.”
Film Critics Association Vice President Janardhan Reddy said, “The Andhra Pradesh Government has given a deserving position to Umamaheswara Rao garu, who is soft-spoken and respected by everyone.”
General Secretary Suresh Kondeti said, “Umamaheswara Rao garu has served the film industry for many years. He served several times on the Nandi Awards Committee in united Andhra Pradesh and was also part of the Oscar committee. I thank Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu garu, FDC Chairman Bharat Bhushan garu, and actor Balakrishna garu for appointing him as Board of Director.”
Film Critics Association President Battula Prasad said, “We are very happy that our senior association member Umamaheswara Rao garu has received this position. We consider it an honor for our Film Critics Association. We are confident that he will fulfill his responsibilities with dedication and bring a good name to the organization.”
Responding to the felicitation, Kondapaneni Umamaheswara Rao said, “I am very happy that my fellow Film Critics Association members, who are like family to me, have honored me with such affection. I sincerely thank Nara Chandrababu Naidu garu, Balakrishna garu, Bharat Bhushan garu, and Prasanna Kumar garu for making this appointment possible.”
The event was attended by Film Critics Association Vice Presidents M.D. Abdul, Treasurer Chadalavada Bharadwaj, Executive Members Appaji, Chandu Ramesh, R.D.S. Prakash, Gorantla Ravi, and others.
