Aswatham Review

`Aswatham` is an Average Crime Thriller.

Story :
Gana (Naga Shaurya) returns to Vizag for his sister`s engagement. When she tries to commit suicide, Gana saves her and comes to know that she’s pregnant but both are clueless as to what might have happened. The rest is about nabbing the kingpin behind similar kinds of  Sexual Crimes that keep repeating.

Performances:
Naga shaurya seems to have worked hard and is pretty convincing in an action-packed emotional role. Jisshu Sengupta is an able antagonist and is a plus. Mehreen doesn`t have much do and is pretty ordinary.

Technical Departments:
Music: Ordinary. The background score is fine.
Cinematography: Adequate.
Editing: Okay.
Stunts: Obviously Over The Top and Decent.

Analysis :
`Aswathama` starts off as a pretty decent Action Thriller but turns into a full-blown psycho-crime affair in the 2nd half. The film which rides on a very relevant social element of sexual abuse is narrated in an overtly cruel manner which is a bit hard to digest. It has some decent action episodes apart from a gripping story, but the director hasn`t been convincing in establishing a proper reason or conclusion. This is an average affair on the whole which deserved a far better 2nd half and ends as a Half-baked attempt despite Shaurya`s best efforts.

Plus:
1. Action
2. Social Elements

Minus:
1. Overtly Cruel
2. Weak Romance

Movie Rating: 2/5

Box-office Verdict :
With WW Theatricals Value including Prints & Publicity at around 7 Cr Apx and Production Budget being easily over 10 Cr, this is likely to end as a failure.
