టీవీ రేటింగ్స్ లో ఆశ్చర్యకరమైన నిజాలు
Post Barc releasing news genre data from Mar 2022 there has been a huge hue and cry on the pecking order for Telugu news.
Legacy channel for more than 16 years was displaced by another channel. It created huge chaos as there were no supporting strength such as new programme changes, on air look, no key anchors, distribution enhancements or any marketing initiatives done by that channel. All stake holders had written to Barc continuously to check infiltrations on ground and revalidate data. It took a while for Barc to realise this and act accordingly. To maintain the sanctify of the currency system and to root out anomalies Barc was provided with detailed analysis of trend patterns and supporting information. While the entire Telugu news genre fell down by 37% Ntv was the only news channel to be immune, all their other channels like Bhakti and Vanitha showed growth when others were down. This might not be coincidence but was done by nefarious actions.
In Sep 2022 a letter with valid video proof clearly suggesting intervention at the ground level in AP/TS region was forwarded to MIB and the entire media industry. This shook up the trust of Barc currency system. A vigorous investigation and audit was demnded.
Subsequently in Oct 2022 Barc’s chairman Mr.Shashi Sinha had openly accepted this issue in a prestigious public forum. Vigilance team started its process of cleansing and by this month we were able to receive some respite. The channel TV9 Telugu which was and is a leader in the genre was able to regain the top position.

తెలుగు న్యూస్ చానల్స్ రేటింగ్ లో ట్యాంపరింగ్ జరిగిందనే వార్తలు గుప్పుమంటున్నాయి. ఇందుకు సంబంధించిన ఆధారాలను కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం, టీవీ చానల్స్ రేటింగ్స్ చూసే బార్క్ కు అందాయి. తీగలాగితే డొంకంతా కదిలినట్లు ఒక్కొక్కటిగా వాస్తవాలు వెలుగులోకి వస్తున్నాయి. ఇందుకు తగిన సాక్ష్యాధారాలు దొరికాయి.
అదొక్కటే ఎందుకు పెరిగింది…
2022 మార్చి నెలలో టీవీ చానల్స్ రేటింగ్స్ పరిశోధన సంస్థ BARC… రేటింగ్స్ విడుదల చేసింది. దీని ప్రకారం తెలుగు రాష్ట్రాల్లోని అన్ని న్యూస్ చానల్స్ రేటింగ్స్ భారీగా తగ్గాయి. అదే సమయంలో న్యూస్ చానల్స్ మార్కెట్ వ్యూవర్ షిప్ కూడా దాదాపు 30 నుంచి 35 శాతానికి తగ్గింది. కానీ ఎన్టీవీ న్యూస్ చానల్ రేటింగ్ అతి తక్కువగా..అదీ కేవలం 3 శాతమే తగ్గింది. ఆశ్చర్యకరంగా కొన్ని ప్రాంతాల్లో ఆ చానల్ రేటింగ్ ఏకంగా 11 శాతం పెరిగింది. అలా అని ఎన్టీవీ ప్రొగ్రామ్స్ లో మార్పులు చేశారా అంటే.. అదీ లేదు. పోనీ న్యూస్ ప్రజెంటేషన్ లో కొత్తదనం ఏమైనా ఉందా అంటే లేనే లేదు. కనీసం డిస్ట్రిబ్యూషన్ ను ఏమైనా మెరుగు పరిచారా అంటే… ఆ పని చేయలేదు. అయినా సరే ఎన్టీవీ రేటింగ్స్ భారీగా పెరగడం పలు అనుమాానాలకు తావిచ్చింది. దీని పై బార్క్ కు ఫిర్యాదులు భారీగా అందాయి.
కనిపెట్టేసింది…
ఈ సంగతి తెలుసుకుని దిద్దుబాటు చర్యలకు దిగింది BARC. ఇందులో భాగంగా లోపం ఎక్కడ జరిగిందో పూర్తి స్థాయిలో విశ్లేషించింది. మొత్తం తెలుగు న్యూస్ చానల్స్ రేటింగ్స్ 37 శాతం పడిపోయినప్పుడు ఎన్టీవీ, భక్తి, వనితా చానల్స్ ఎందుకు పెరిగాయో ఆరా తీసింది. ఎక్కడ ట్యాంపరింగ్ జరిగిందనే విషయాన్ని కనిపెట్టింది. ఇందుకు తగిన ఆడియా, వీడియో ఆధారాలను సంపాదించింది. 2022 సెప్టెంబర్ లో ఏపీ, తెలంగాణ ప్రాంతాల్లో గ్రౌండ్ లెవల్లో ఈ అక్రమాలు జరిగాయని తెలుసుకుంది.

తప్పు ఒప్పుకున్న…
BARC రేటింగ్స్ లో అవకతవకలు జరగడం దుమారం రేపింది. ఆ సంస్థ నమ్మకాన్ని సవాల్ చేసింది. వెంటనే తప్పు జరిగిన వైనం పై సమగ్ర విచారణ జరిపింది. నిఘా పెట్టి నిజాన్ని నిగ్గు తేల్చింది. తప్పు జరిగిందనే విషయాన్ని బార్క్ ఛైర్మన్ శశి సిన్హా బాహాటంగానే ఒప్పుకున్నారు. ఇప్పుడు బార్క్ లోని విజిలెన్స్ బృందం రేటింగ్స్ మాయాజాలం పై ప్రక్షాళన ప్రారంభించింది. అంతే తేలుకుట్టిన దొంగల్లా ట్యాంపరింగ్ చేసే వారి చేతులు పడిపోయాయి. అంతే ఎన్టీవీ స్థానంలో తాజాగా టీవీ9 తెలుగు తిరిగి నెంబర్ వన్ కు చేరింది.
తెలుగు న్యూస్ చానల్స్ లో వీవర్ షిప్ పరంగా, సబ్ స్రైబర్స్ పరంగా..వెబ్ సైట్, యూట్యూబ్ లోను ఎన్నడూ ముందంజలో లేని ఎన్టీవీ ఏడాదిన్నర కాలంగా నెంబర్ వన్ లో ఉంది. ఇప్పుడు తప్పులు సరి చేస్తుండటంతో దాని రేటింగ్ తగ్గుముఖం పట్టింది. ఇంతటితో ఆగకుండా రేటింగ్స్ మాయాజాలం పై సమగ్ర విచారణ జరిపి చర్యలు తీసుకోవాలని డిమాండ్ ఊపందుకుంది.
